NOC CISCO Data Engineer

  • Strong interpersonal skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage customer problems
    • Must be an effective communicator
  • Must have the ability to multi-task (within reason)
  • Familiar with the ITIL Framework (certification is considered a plus)
  • Working knowledge of ITSM ticketing systems / platforms
  • Knowledge of networking concepts that pertain to LAN,WAN,SD-WANcampus and datacenter environments
  • Cisco CCNA (or higher) certification or proven equivalent knowledge is preferred
  • CCNPCCIE certifications are considered a plus
  • Understanding of and ability to work on network devices such as multilayer switchesroutersload balancersfirewallsaccess points from “enterprise grade” vendors such as CiscoAristaHPPalo AltoViptela or open-source alternatives
  • Comfortable with working in small, medium and large or distributed computer networks
  • Familiar with network monitoring and management tools is considered a plus (HP OpenView, Solarwinds, PRTG, IR Prognosis etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Windows ServerLinux operating systems and any orchestration tools is considered a plus

Job Description Summary:

Actively participate in “business as usual” operational routines, project rollouts and ensure all activities are carried out in a timely manner according to industry best practices and “in house” processes in order to deliver high quality services to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide an excellent customer interface and customer satisfaction skills
  • Resolve and document service request activities
  • Provide 1st to 3rd level support for isolating, resolving and documenting computer network issues
  • Manage and communicate change scope and schedules
  • Ability to work shifts and on-call hours based on the requirements of the Network Operations Center
  • Assist with project rollouts as assigned by the customer and/or line manager
  • Provide escalation support when working with carriers (ISPs)
  • Engage equipment vendor technical support centers (Cisco TAC etc.) when software or hardware faults are identified
